Question: Does it bother some gays and lesbians that they are sometimes identified with transsexuals?

My research has brought to the conclusion that transsexualism is a mental disorder. Homosexuality is much different. To me it doesn't seam right to group the 2 together. Does it bother homosexuals that they are categorized with people who have a mental disease, Or does it bother transsexuals to be grouped with gays. i don't blame transsexuals for being mad at me, Its not your fault you have a mental disease. Its hard for anyone with a mental disorder to recognize they aren't right in the head. The world wouldn't lie to you and classify transsexualism as a mental disorder if it wasn't. There is a good reason fo this. Homosexual men sexually behave more like heterosexual women then heterosexual men whereas a heterosexually oriented post-op transsexual woman sexually behaves completely like a woman! Kinda close in sexual nature don't ya think? Next time you are giving your partner oral sex and he has an orgasm, just remember that it is your defeat as a man that you are tasting!

I think it bothers gay people more to associate with transexuals than transexuals will mix with anyone.They didnt choose this disorder and if they do have a mental disorder its a result of being born wrong not beacsue they are transexual.

Your research can't be very thorough or scientifically based! And it wasn't all that long ago that homosexuality was listed in the DSM-IV as a "mental disorder " Transsexualism is a medical condition that someone is born with not a choice and not a result of some psychological trauma for someone who has "researched " this you come across very ignorant and hateful... I do not consider myself to be a lesbian as I am a trans woman attracted to men. However the T in LGBT is there because we suffer from the same discrimination bigotry and ignorance that the majority of society puts upon things they do not understand... It is thought that they gay community would be sensitive to the issues that transgender and transsexuals face but unfortunately there is a lot of ignorance in the gay community as well. You are right that sexual orientation and gender Identity have nothing to do with each other but NEITHER is a mental disorder.

It doesn't bother me. It's sad society has such a need to label everyone, but I have friends that are transgendered. They are great people, so I have no problem being classified in the same group as them. The Tall & Tantalizing Makayla Milan
