Premarital sex? Many LGBT's cannot legally get married, so in that sense, I guess you could say that. Love is love. Sex is sex. As long as all involved parties consent, I don't see a problem.

It's a bit different since not all places have legalized same sex marriage yet. If the couple is in a state or country where it is legal, then the same rules would apply for it to be considered "premarital sex " as it would with a straight couple. If it is not legal where they are at, then I guess it depends on what the couple considers themselves. Have they had a comittment ceremony? Have they publicly or privately made a pact to spend the rest of their lives together as they would in a legal marriage? Do they consider themselves a married couple, despite the legal discrimination against their marital status in their area? If you are looking at it from a strictly religious perspective, there are many churches or congregations or spiritual organizations that will perform same sex unions even if it is not legally recognized. So, in the eyes of the church they would be married, but not in the eyes of the government. Not all gay or lesbian people can afford to travel to an area where they can legally marry. I don't think that makes them any less comitted or married, providing that is the structure they have established in their relationship. Either way, "premarital sex " is mostly an irrelevant religious concept. Most people in this day and age do engage in some sort of premarital sexual activity, whether they be gay, straight, or bisexual. Sex and love are different things. Everyone should have sex when they are personally ready and for reasons that are important to them. Not to live up to anyone else's standards. As long as the couple is old enough, ready emotionally and financially to handle possible outcomes (such as STD treatments, should one be contracted and the cost of buying condoms or other safe sex implements), I don't see a problem with it.

More likely than not it is because members of the LGBT community aren't allowed to be married in most places . It sucks and is totally discriminatory .

Well there are a lot of ways this answer could go. 1.) Premarital sex can be for any orientation. Gays can get married in D.C., Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Iowa, Canada, and most countries in South America and Europe + recognized in Maryland and New York. So yes you could wait to get married. 2.) Even though it is possible I don't condone not have sex before marriage. Sex tells a lot about the person you are dating. A LOT! Many marriages have been ruined because the couple didn't have any sexual chemistry. Many spouses have been cheated on because they didn't have that chemistry. I'm not saying slut it up but I am saying get out there and try out your options and find out what you like and don't like. Because it would be horrible if you got into a relationship with someone great that you didn't vibe with sexually.
