That's one thing about Leviticus though, it's making gay people and Atheists read the Bible :) (Even if just to drive-by mock it) Sadly, most people who drive by that website & quote it at people won't bother to read the references, and they will assume the short erroneous descriptions are accurate.

Yeah, I got that email too. I hate how they forgot Corinthians, especially considering it was a woman speaking out about it.

How many times have you used the word "genesis " to refer to the beginning of something? How about "Bible " to refer to some publication that you read regularly? If you don't believe in anything the Bible stands for, don't use any of it.

Lol very good argument (Y) I love it xD

They'll just tell you that Leviticus is the Old Law, but that the ban on homosexuality still holds because Paul comes back to say something about it. Of course, this is extremely spurious since Jesus himself never said a single word on the subject (Which you would expect if it were so darn important), and since Paul never actually met Jesus but simply claims to have had a visions of him. These are the conclusions of a people who worship a certain number of pages bound together and who conveniently only give thought to the parts that go with their own prejudice. (I can't say number 11 comes up very often).

That is great! no kidding why pick on the gays, I mean look at this stuff, most religious people, or fundies, are lower on the intelligence scale any way the gay one is probably the only one the understand

And what excuses can you come up for the New Testament Romans chapter 1? You are trying to claim sin as good, and it is not!

I can't help why, but wallabies turn me on.

I think it would be awesome if churches started mandatory nut checks for entry.

Please read Romans 1:18-32 as we are now in Jesus' Grace Period, sweety. period.

Very good point....you can't chose the laws that you want to follow and not follow the others, then judge other people for the laws that they chose to follow or not follow. However, some of the laws listed are part of law codes that were considered dead when Jesus passed, so they don't count. For example, the scripture in Leviticus on tattoos, that law was part of a law code that was considered no more after Jesus' death. However, your point is still true and valid.

Well right off the bat number one is wrong; Levi;19;27;You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard. Also if you have no beard in the first place their is nothing to Mar. Number# 2 even easier;Clearly somebody up there likes us, because we found a great response at AZCentral.com. The column explains that, despite the nickname, footballs are made of leather, not pigskin. A visit to Wilson.com (maker of official NFL footballs) confirms this.EPIC FAIL on the football deal.. #3.Why do you think the newspaper puts "for entertainment only ",above the horoscopes,so people don't take it seriously. As a true Christian would not FAIL.#4.What would you do if you caught your brother in bed w/ your wife, make them pancakes, this goes a bit further than masturbation...#5...It is probable that a strong propensity to adopt such marks in honor of some idol gave occasion to the prohibition in this verse; and they were wisely forbidden, for they were signs of apostasy;(different times) and, when once made, they were insuperable obstacles to a return. (you can remove tattoos today)(See allusions to the practice, Isa 44:5; Re 13:17; 14:1).I doubt having O.C.C Choppers on your arm is going to send you to hell, lets be realistic.#6Once again way out of context, read on;was in all probability designed to root out some superstition, it seems to have had a further meaning. The law, it is to be observed, did NOT prohibit the Israelites wearing many different kinds of cloths together, but only the two specified; and the observations and researches of modern science have proved that "wool, when combined with linen, increases its power of passing off the electricity from the body. In hot climates, it brings on malignant fevers and exhausts the strength; and when passing off from the body, it meets with the heated air, inflames and excoriates like a blister " [Whitlaw]. (See Eze 44:17, 18).So it is safe to wear cotton and jeans or whatever,W/ out being damned, lol.another FAIL..take into account this was 3-4 thousand years ago ,this list is getting blown out of the water.2 of the last 5 hold some water, but the first few are not quite as they put them. And most of us are guilty of this whole list,(except for me lol)w/ the exception of the outlandish few like,no testicles no church, the cheating w/ the brother.

I do not quote Leviticus alone as proof against homosexuality. I do use Leviticus along with 1 Cor 6:9-11 to demonstrate that God has always disapproved of the practice of homosexuality just as He has ALL sexual activity outside of and in violation of marriage. Homosexuality is just as much of a sin as any sin. Now on to your answers. I do not live by the Law of Moses and do not follow those OT passages. As for your two NT passages. I do not believe in divorce for any reason other than sexual immorality. I have not divorced, neither has my wife any of our siblings or our parents. I reference to gold, I do not wear jewelry - a watch only on occasion and it is steel. My wife wears very little jewelry and it is only a small accent and not in a bold immodest way which is what Paul is describing in 1 Tim 2.

Nicely put. The whole point of the Law given to Moses and Israel is that nobody on the face of the earth is capable of keeping that law, therefore everybody stands guilty before God, even if they manage to keep other parts of it. If we violate God's law even at one point, we are proved to be sinners. Of course, you must not mix up the ceremonial and priestly laws with the moral law. It is the moral law that applies to all people, at all times, and those are summed up in the Ten Commandments and in the summation of them as expressed by Jesus. It needs to be stated that Christians know that even to look lustfully at a woman (or a man) is to commit adultery in one's heart. That's what Jesus said, and that proves the person to be a sinner. We are all sinners. Christianity is for sinners who know they are sinners, and who wish to repent. It doesn't matter by which point of law one is brought to the realisation that they are sinful in God's eyes. All and every sin can only be dealt with by putting faith in what Jesus did to redeem us from the curse of the Law. There's no need to go on about homosexuality. Any kind of fornication or adultery will serve to illustrate the point equally well.

Leviticus shows what God loves and what God hates.

Posted by: anthony h on 2010-08-17, 11:22:50

These have nothing to do with that particular scripture, and you saying if you follow one law you must follow all, you would be the perfect scripture lawyer for satan if only you knew just what you were talking about according to scripture, but you have twisted it to your own benefit. What God says is what He says, you or I cannot change that. As for law, we are under grace. God says homosexuality is an abomination and it is, and it is not only mentioned in Leviticus, care to tell us where it is found again in the scriptures? I didn't think you could. We are to know the law and discern between ordinance and statutes that are revoked under grace. 1. If I were being over taken by my enemy in a fierce attack and my life was on the line, heck yes I would want my wife to grab his genitals or anything else she could do to help me out, . 2. did you consider some people in church had testicular cancer and had to have the genitals removed? or the true reformed rapist who had surgical castration and has repented and will sin no more in that context, jesus died for their forgiveness? God sees and is in control, your judgement is not needed. 3. Do you know why blended materials were spoken of in that scripture and the purpose for it at that time? 4. Eating shellfish is not a sin unto death, but a sin unto health under the health laws eating too much brings on poor health and high cholestrol. 5. Fortune telling is a no, no, see the witch of Endor and how God dealt with her. 6. touching a football? it is not eating a pig. Not every football today or for a very long time has been made of pig skin and purposefully for this reason and for cost to industry. 7. Who wore the round haircuts and why? do you understand? 8. Divorce? God is a divorcee, He divorced Jerusalem of whom He married, under grace there is forgiveness of sin for the asking. 9. Pulling out or masturbation? Well if ye be married why worry about it? the bed is undefiled for those who are married and yes, it is better to marry than to burn in your flesh. 10. Wearing Gold? this is about vulgarness and the intent behind the display. You need to study. The scriptures tells us that we are to "study to show yourself approved in the sight of God, a workman that needs not be ashamed. Now that should not be hard to understand before you post another mess. who made you the law and sin judge anyway.
