...and democrats and catholics and the poor and women and sinners and the righteous and the sick and hispanics and men and mormons and the rich and PhDs and black people and hippies and republicans and muslims and the uneducated and children and asians and wiccans and lawyers and prostitutes and the French and environmentalists and cheaters and worshippers and every other label of people you can think of! God loves all of us and all are invited to join him. I have seen so much misunderstandings about the character of God. As if it is hateful to say that we all (including all those same people listed above) sin. Why is it hateful to say the obvious? You can read our posts at any given time of the day and see the conflicts and anger and pride in our hearts. I'm so tired of people being mad at God because we don't get a free pass on our own actions and choices. As if there were not natural consequences in our souls as well as our relationships on earth. It sounds like there is this idea that he is just sitting in heaven waiting to whack us on the side of our head for some sin or another, when he is the one that died so we could be free. How does it make any sense to see the christian god as cruel when he himself took all our punishment and asks only that we accept it for ourselves to be free? He stands with his palm open, asking you to come to him, but when we refuse to he is blamed. How does that make sense? I know, I'm probably annoying someone:) And that's okay, God loves you too;) ok, perhaps "for the record " was not the best way to put that. But I am also so amazed that a post about God loving us has been so ill received. Here's some added biblical reference: When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the "sinners " and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'? " On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. " Mark 2:16- 18 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10 There were questions about evil in the world proving the non- existence of God or at evidence against a loving God, as well the way that God interacts with people in the OT. I would like to respond to that on a separate thread.

What about Jews? does he hate Jews? He allowed 6 million Jews to be killed in WWII. I mean, couldn't God just of snapped his fingers and have an infant Adolf Hitler die of SIDS? Take one person's life to save ~12 million that died under his tyranny? Some loving God he is... But any "good " Christian would argue that "It was God's will " or "His thinking is higher that ours " Come on! give me a break. That's just insanity.

And for the record, I cannot see how a being that created me would allow me to burn in agony forever in Hell for not buying the story of Jesus Christ can somehow call that "love ". Last time I checked there were plenty of self-awoved "true christians " who swear that god despises anything short of purely right wing.

Even though your question wasn't exactly clear, God's is unconditional love or so I've heard, so that would qualify the aforementioned people (gay, lesbian), for God's love. "In the beginning was the word, " (John 1:1). That's a neat place to start, isn't it? What about John Wayne Gacy? Now there's a real quandry. I bet Satan loves him, so that's a whole 'nuther paint-job.

Yes! You may have confused some by using God and the phrase "he is the one that died so we could be free " in the same sentence, for those who don't understand the trinity. But hey, you are an excellent witness! You make perfect sense to me. @ jennifer-God gave people free will. People performed these atrocities against man, not God.
